Bull Mastiff dogs: The 4 paw guide

Despite his appearance, the Bull Mastiff normally makes a devoted and gentle companion. A Bull Mastiff puppy will soon bond with the whole family, adults and children alike, adoring everyone and becoming a great watchdog. Given his size, the Bullmastiff has a large appetite and a need for regular exercise – consistent and thorough training is required, as he can be stubborn and difficult to train. This can be a problem as he grows into his adult size!

The Bullmastiff is the only breed of watch dog, specifically created in Britain by crossing a Mastiff with a Bulldog. Originally used by gamekeepers to catch poachers, the Bull Mastiff could keep the intruder pinned down, without ever using his teeth.
