Teach Your Dog To Wait

Does your pet try to rush out the door or jump all over you while you attempt to put his food dish down, if so you can teach your dog to wait to help control his overexcited behavior.   The Wait command is relatively simple for your pooch to learn and is a matter of patience and consistency on your part.  Here’s what you need to do:

Step 1 – Place your dog on a 6 foot lead when you begin to teach your dog to wait.  This will help give you more control and show him you mean business when at first he doesn’t respond to the command.  Take him to the front or back door.
